Chill Out With Us!
Whether or not we have a February thaw, cycling enthusiasts will ride from all over the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to participate in the GDB Super Bowl Sunday Ride. Hosted by the Greater Dallas Bicyclists, this event has been known to attract over 1,000 cyclists. The ride is free, the people are fun, so don't miss this traditional event!

Where To Eat?
It was such a great location last year that we heading back to DICK'S LAST RESORT!

LOCATION:
Dick's Last Resort
2211 N. Lamar
Dallas, TX 75202
Phone: 214-747-0001

Dick's is located in the growing area of Victory Project near the American Airlines Center. The three story red brick building reads 'White Swan Coffee' on the outside and is located across the street from the House of Blues.

Several of the streets near Dick's are one-way, so plan acordingly. Additional vehicle parking on a surface lot is at the intersection of McKinney and Houston since parking next to the restaurant is limited. Wear your club or cycling store jersey. This is a FUN spot, so bring the laughter, cheers and good times with you!

MENU:
Attendees will be able to select off the menu below. Prices will probably range from $11.99 to $16.99 including tax and tip.

Alternative restaurants in the area (you should call to confirm they are going to be open):

Gators Croc & Roc Rooftop
Hard Rock Cafe
Hooters
House of Blues
Chili's
Spaghetti Warehouse
El Fenix
Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse

Bring a Bike Lock!
A lot of careful planning goes into making the West End Ride a safe and successful event, but ultimately it is the responsibility of each rider to look out for his or her own safety and security. It is highly recommended that you bring a bike lock. Ensuring the security of your personal belongings whether its a camera, tool bag, panniers or your bike is up to each person. Lock it up, don't lose it!

Starting Times and Locations:
All Mileages are round trip. All rides are free! Ride with the group of your choice and we hope to see you there! If you have questions, please call your selected ride location contact person or the GDB Special Events Coordinator (Vicki Capers aka Princess) at 214-957-1229 or email to princesscapers@tx.rr.com

Join The GDB
GDB is for those of you looking for a club that has great group rides to different parts of the Metroplex, has several fun social activities for all ages, has rides of different skill levels and is the host of the yearly Lancaster Country Rally in April. If that sounds good to you and you enjoy meeting new friends, then join the Greater Dallas Bicyclists! Receive discounts at numerous Metroplex area bike shops. New membership applications are available on this website. Helmets are mandatory when riding with GDB.

Obey Traffic Laws And Wear A Helmet
Effective Cyclists Instructors offer some very important advice: "When you ride a bicycle on a public road, you must follow the rules of the road, give signals, obey signs and lights, yield the right of way and keep a sharp lookout for danger -- JUST LIKE CAR DRIVERS DO! It is essential that each rider takes responsibility for his or her safety and that they know that they represent all cyclists when they are on the road. Obey the traffic laws and cycling laws. Every person riding a bicycle shall be granted all the rights and shall be subject to all the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle."

  • Two abreast maximum. No packs of riders!

  • Stop at all control devices. Don't get a ticket!
  • Ride to the right of the road. It's safer!
  • Look out for each other. Assist riders in need!
  • PLEASE! No earbuds. Attentive riders are better riders.
  • USE OF HELMETS IS MANDATORY.

Official Dallas Bike Routes should be used to ensure the best possible streets in and out of downtown. Bike route maps are available from the City of Dallas or, in many bike shops. Experience how easy it is to bike around town using the route system.
