Description — The "Summer Fast Ride" rider can expect a
friendly and social 60-plus-mile recreational ride -- much
like the "Airport Ride" -- but a little longer and faster. One
should feel comfortable riding close to others as the group, as we
might work in a rotation at tempo. Average speed from
Preston/Forest to the Shell station will be between 18-21
mph. Average speed from the Shell station around the airport to the control
tower and around will be above 21 mph. Please feel free to
join this ride at the start or at the Shell station... Rest
assured, the "regular Airport Ride" is a few minutes back to sweep
anyone who gets dropped. Please introduce yourself if you
are new to this ride.

Description:
Level: 2-3
Distance: 20-25
This ride is for those who cannot comfortably make a 6:00pm start at REI. We will start from Forest at Central promptly at 7:00pm. Lights are required. This will be a snappy 22 mile trail ride with minimum red lights, stop signs etc. It is a great alternative to keep your legs and lungs conditioned through the winter.
The 7:00pm start permits a solid alternative to those who cannot get off work early on Tuesdays. The 7:00pm start also ensures the trails will clear out some as they can be crowded and dangerous when the weather is still warm.

Pace: 14-18 mph flats, Avg. 13-15 (groups split)
Hills: Gentle (Optional Loving area hills: Hard)
Breaks: 1, at 7-11
Drops: Possible, but regroup points
Leader: Group ride, no specific leader
Maps provided: No

Ride down the White Rock Creek bike trail and around White Rock Lake (or other locations depending on weather and trail conditions). Either road bikes or mountain bikes are acceptable. Start at the Office Depot / Schlotzkys parking lot at the southwest corner of Forest Lane and Hwy 75 (Central Expressway).

LIGHTS REQUIRED !!!
